An Invitation and Commitment

The Industrial Development Board of Hickman County, Tennessee hereby extends an invitation to industrial and commercial interests to come to Hickman County and do business here.

To those who accept, we make the following commitment:

We will use every power available to us under the law to help your business develop, prosper and be as successful at it can possibly be.

For example, we can help you ….

  • Locate and finance needed land and/or buildings
  • Finance needed equipment, pollution control systems and supplies
  • Identify, screen and train needed employees
  • Minimize taxes and fees on land, buildings and equipment

In Hickman County, the main economic development agencies have come together in a unified effort to create jobs and promote economic development throughout the county. We place emphasis on helping small and medium-sized businesses grow and prosper. One of our main goals is to make sure government at all levels contributes to the success of businesses in our county.

Hickman County is a very large, naturally gorgeous, sparsely populated rural county where old-time ideas and values still thrive in abundance. We have good, hard-working people who are easy to get along with and know how to be good neighbors. Our schools are excellent and we have a full complement of schools (Elementary, Middle, Junior High and Senior High) in two localities: Centerville and Bon Aqua (in the northeast quadrant). Our churches are many and varied and well attended.

Hickman County is bordered by Williamson County (Fairview, Franklin) on the East, Maury County (Columbia) on the East and South, Lewis County (Hohenwald) on the South and West, Perry County (Linden) on the West, Humphreys County (Waverly, McEwen, New Johnsonville) on the West and North and Dickson County (Dickson, White Bluff, Charlotte) on the North and East. We are only an hour or less drive to the Metropolitan Nashville Airport (BNA) or to downtown Nashville.

We have ready access to four I-40 exits and one Tennessee 840 exit. Tennessee 840 has speedy access to I-40 West, I-65 South, I-24 East and I-40 East without the necessity of negotiating Nashville traffic.

Besides interstate highways, Hickman County has many excellent quality State Highways. We also have rail access that crosses the county and a very good quality municipal airport.

We welcome your interest and look forward to helping you find your new home. We are confident that you will love it here as much as we do.
